Apeture = 5.6
Shutter speed = 1/200
ISO = 100

This is my dog Jingles. She's 12 yrs old so she really doesn't do much. But I feel like you can see the wisdom in her eyes here. She's such a little sweet heart. It was hard to get her to cooperate at times, but in the end I do believe I got some cute pictures of her.
For the last photo assignment I chose to do animals. I absolutely love my dog, but she really doesn't do anything during the day. She looks around outside and sleeps. So that's exactly what I took pictures of her doing. She is 12 years old and is getting pretty lazy. She doesn't like going outside when there is snow on the ground, because she typically can't look over the snow, so it was difficult to get her outside. I love her though and I really enjoyed taking these pictures. It's been fun getting familiar with the camera. I learned a lot from this class.

 This assignment we did visual puns. My first pun shown is the bee's knee's. It is simple, yet funny. The second pun I did was band wagon. Lastly, I did palm pilot. This was a fun assignment because we really had to think about certain phrases that we could describe through pictures. I believe all of my pictures are obvious, yet still require some thought.

This is my visual dictionary. We had to find a word, then show pictures of what we believe best represents the word and would help one understand it. I did light because it is very simple, yet complex. There's the basic definition of light, and the scientific definition. I decided to write the scientific, but showed the basic. I really enjoyed this project. It was interesting, and fun to create and design.

Apeture = f 5.6
ISO =1600
shutter speed = 1/250

This assignment I did shadows. It wasn't exactly the most exciting or interesting picture I've ever taken, but I did like the way it turned out. I love the colors, and I like the contrast between the foreground and  background.
For this assignment I chose to do lights and shadows. It was an interesting topic because I honestly didn't know what I wanted to shoot. I was just looking around my house and I found a "k" that was over out fire place. Then I just went outside where there was some brilliant light. I staged the picture, but overall I do like the way they turned out. I love the brick in the background and the contrast it gives to the gold "k". They weren't my favorite pictures I've taken so far, but I do think there is something unique about them.

In this assignment we had to take a picture of the school and put things in the school that you typically wouldn't see. So I put Sidney Crosby : ) , Brandi Chastain, Troy Polamalu, and Hulk Hogan in my picture. They are all just hanging out in our weight room. I think this is a real fun project because it got my creative juices flowing. I enjoyed this assignment.

ISO = 800
Apeture = f 8.0
Shutter Speed = 1/6

This is still life / product. I love the uniqueness and distinct background, clashing with the brown glasses. This is one of my favorite pictures I've taken in the class this far. I honestly believe this could be an ad in a magazine.
For this photo assignment I did still life / product. My product was my Ray Ban sun glasses. I wanted to capture the uniqueness of the glasses but have the picture be very simple and straight to the point. I chose the background because it is one of my favorite patterns. I think it's fun, yet classic. Just how I picture the Ray Ban glasses. I am very proud of these pictures because I could picture this as an ad in a magazine. This was a fun assignment, and I enjoyed taking these.

For this assignment we had to demonstrate motion. We went outside and adjusted out shutter speed to 1/60th. We put it on this so we could get the subject in focus, but then have the background blurred. This was difficult thought because it was very bright outside so we had to set the ISO as low as it could go, 80, so you could actually see the picture. Once we got back inside I just uploaded the picture to GIMP and did some editing of the colors. I also cropped it so we could focus more on the bike rider. I liked learning on how to blur the background. It makes the picture cooler.

Apeture = 3.1
Shutter speed= 1/2000
ISO = 100

This is my macro assignment. It's an amaryllis flower and my dad got it for my mom for valentines day. This picture is probably my favorite picture I've taken so far. Macro is such an interesting setting because it helps you see things that you typically couldn't. It makes for such an intriguing picture!! I used to know a little bit about the macro setting before this, but knowing about apeture, shutter speed, and ISO helped make the picture that much better. I really enjoyed this assignment.
This assignment I did digital macro. This is when you take pictures of things that you typically wouldn't get a close up of. So far, this has been my favorite assignment. I took a picture of my mom's amaryllis. This is a tropical flower that my mom got from my dad for valentines day. I thought it was such an interesting picture because it shows all of the little pollen dust on the flower. I will definitely use this technique in the future.

Our assignment was to take 3 different pictures and blend them together in a "panoramic" photo. We used the program GIMP and then went in and edited the 3 separate pictures. This assignment was very fun because I think these pictures are so cool. I've always wondered how people took pictures like this. Now I could go home and do this by myself! It was actually much more simple than I thought it would be. All you have to do is get the pictures in line and then change a few things. The hardest part was scaling them so they could all fit together. I made sure that I controlled how much light was let into the camera, instead of just having it on manual settings, so the colors wouldn't be that different. This assignment was very interesting and fun, I am definitely going to use these techniques in the future.

Apeture = f 4
ISO = 200
Shutter Speed = 1/1000

Here is a picture of my twin brother playing basketball. For this assignment I did motion. I love the cool dunk that he is doing, and that I captured the most intriguing part of that dunk. I also like how you can see the sun from behind the basketball hoop. This assignment was really fun because I love sports, and so taking these pictures was so interesting to me.
For this assignment I did motion. These pictures are always very interesting because they capture something that we see in one blink of an eye. I love looking at the sports pictures, and so for this assignment I decided to do motion sports pictures. It was really neat because I am a huge sports fan, and I've always loved taking pictures of my brother's soccer games and what not. I never knew how to make things not blurry though. This assignment taught me how to take compelling sports photos, that are in focus! I really enjoyed this assignment because it furthermore developed my understanding of the different settings on my camera.

For this assignment we learned about lighting. The picture on the left is a studio picture. The picture on the right used the window lighting. I thought this assignment was really interesting. Light is one of the biggest components to pictures. It can make or break a picture. I learned how to manipulate light so I could get it where I wanted to highlight certain features. The studio picture is my favorite. It looks like an actual photographer took it, almost like a senior picture! This assignment was fun.

Apeture= 3.1
Shutter Speed= 1/2000
ISO= 80

This is my favorite picture I have taken this far. I love how the ice surrounds the tree and preserves the tree's color. It's extremely appealing to the eye. I also like how the background is all dull colors, while the foreground's colors are very dominant. Winter is one of my favorite seasons, but often times you can't really capture interesting pictures. I do believe though that this picture is rather interesting.
The next theme I did for my photo assignment was nature. Lately we have been lucky enough to have just the right amount of snow. I am a huge fan of winter and so this assignment was very fun. I live across from a golf course so the scenery was beautiful. I found one particular tree that really caught my eye. There were huge ice sickles that were hanging off of one tree. I believe I got some very interesting shots of this tree. Also I took these shots right around sun set, and there were some clouds in the sky. However the sky turned out beautifully, because the color seemed to stretch throughout the clouds.
I had a lot of fun with this assignment and I absolutely loved getting out and exploring for these awesome pictures!!!

For this assignment we had to take a picture and manipulate it using GIMP. In the original picture there was a background, but when I went through and edited it I took out the background, and made it all black. Also the hood of the car had shine on it that didn't look very appealing, so I went through and removed some of the excess shine. Then I also tinted the glass of the car to make it look at little darker. And lastly I went through and brightened the colors of the car to ad some appeal to it.
I learned a little bit more about how to actually use GIMP. It was a very interesting assignment because I would have never thought you could change a picture so much. I wanted to know how to cut the background out of a photo and now I know how! This assignment was very useful and I feel as though I have a better grip on using GIMP.

This here is my black and white photo. I wanted to do an interesting topic that would look nice in black and white. It is very simple, but I do believe it is captivating as well. There's something extremely intriguing about a picture in black and white. That's why I chose this to be my first photo assignment. You can really make a picture beautiful by just simply changing it to black and white.
Apeture= F4
Shutter Speed= 1/4
ISO= 400
This is my first photo assignment, and I decided to choose black and white. My subject is one of my watches. Here I really emphasized all of the fine small details in my watch that you typically wouldn't pay attention to. These 7 pictures are my favorite out of all the photos I took. This assignment subject is really interesting because the pictures are extremely captivating. I loved setting the photo to black and white because it really exemplified the qualities of the watch, and helped draw more attention to the watch. I will absolutely use this technique in the future.

In this assignment we had to take a picture of a friend, and edit it in GIMP. This is a photo editing program that gives you the power to transform you picture into a work of art. Here we created and Andy Warhol- like photo by taking a picture and changing the background color. It was actually a lot simpler than I thought it would be. All we did was crop the picture, copy it, change the background color, and then reposition the individual pictures. As you can see I had a little fun with my picture. This assignment was cool, and I'm glad I got to learn how to do this.

Both of these photos represent macro photos. This is when a camera reveals a part of life that we typically do not see. Macro photos are pictures close up to objects. I think these types of pictures are so interesting because they are new to our eyes. To see the fine detail of a bee flying, or to get up close and personal to a butterfly landing on a tree is what intrigues me. Ever since I've started taking pictures macro photography has always been one of my favorite categories. It opens a whole new world that we aren't used to.

About the Assignment: Our assignment was to walk around of school or home and take pictures that represent the 11 rules of composition. The rules are rule of thirds, depth of field, symmetry, texture, pattern, lines, space, balance, framing, color, and perspective.

Rule of Thirds= Paper and Camera
Depth of Field= Car and Snow
Symmetry= Shoe
Texture= Tree
Pattern= Pole
Lines = Clock
Space= Sled
Balance= Sucker
Framing= Basketball hoop
Color= Paint can
Perspective= Dog

Over the course of this assignment I actually learned how to take interesting pictures. I wasn't aware that there were so many ways that you could take a boring picture or scene, and change it into something interesting and eye appealing. I feel like I've conquered the basics of photography.
